Taylor’s Swift newest album, the Tortured Poets Department has been out since mid April, but I haven’t really heard much of it (other than its most popular song, Fortnight) until recently. I’ve always liked most of Taylor Swift’s songs (such as You Need To Calm Down), but the many of the songs in the new album are quite refreshing. Many are adorned with synth, specifically synth-pop. Synth refers to synthetic, or electric, sounds; the majority of Stranger Things soundtrack for example, is synth (though synthwave is the specific term for that, which is for 80s era synthetic sounds). The album consists of 34 songs, so it’s something that’ll take a bit of time to listen in full.
