The Serpent Queen, a TV series on STARZ, wasn’t even on my radar. I’ve never heard of it, but stumbled across it when a horror movie on Starz disappointed me. It’s a sophisticated, well told drama, with unique storytelling elements. The characters I say are developed quite well, with a lovable antihero and entourage of consistent characters, despite the story beginning approximately a decade ago. Without spoiling much, it is set in the 1500s in France, and kind of revolves around royal family power plays.
